First, let me thank you for giving me the direction and tools to document our lives for our family. I have been working on the "on-line" workbook for several weeks and received the binder just the other day.

I had most of the information needed but had it in several locations which no one else would have found. The process guided me in compiling details that will be invaluable to others when the time arrives.

I wanted to comment on how I ended up using the Departing Details Workbook.

I completed all of the workbook sections electronically. I then copied them and filled the binder. However, after careful thought I decided to hold our some of the legal documents from the binder. Where there were legal documents I referred the reader to a separate book rather than duplicate the information.

I ended up with a) Departing Detail Workbook, b) Estate Planning binder (with all legal documents ie: Power of Attorney, Last Will and Testament, etc), and c) Life Insurance binder (with insurance policies).

I also have 2 other files that I kept separately, 1) Funeral and Burial details, and 2) Mortgage details with deeds)

All of these are referenced in the Departing Details Workbook.

These 3 binders and 2 files are now kept in a document safe in our home. I walked my oldest daughter through the system and now feel confident that things will be easier when we pass.

Just know that your work has made a difference for the Quincey's. Thank you and God Bless!

To be very honest, when life has ended, one of the greatest legacies a person can give their loved ones is to ensure he or she has clearly considered, organized and communicated their wishes.

I have watched many individuals and families burdened, and sometimes broken, trying to deal with the complicated and uncertain details following a family member's death. While it may be uncomfortable to confront one's mortality, leaving an estate in disarray is a heart wrenching legacy for those left behind.

Spending the time and energy to follow this step by step guide, ensuring all is one place, is a very worthwhile endeavor for those you care about.

I loved this book and felt such satisfaction as I completed each category. It prompted me to redo my will and to add a living will and power of attorney. Hopefully the binder will now gather dust for a while before it is needed.

From a 40 year Ontario legal practice perspective, this Workbook, simply completed as directed, represents a godsend to those left behind with the responsibility of estate administration. These lost souls attend upon me shortly after the death of their beloved and are grief stricken and as a consequence are intellectually “distracted’ with reduced ability to investigate and focus on issues and details as they otherwise would.

With the benefit of the author’s Nursing and Legal Management background, the Workbook is a consumer friendly, practical and sensitive blueprint of fundamental assistance to family and lay executors in the discharge of their duties.

This comprehensive and straightforward workbook provided all the considerations and structure I needed to put my personal wishes and financial affairs in order so that they are clearly known for end of life. This guide is a must for those who say, "I'll get around to it" but never do.

Your Power of Attorney, Health Advocate, Executor and family will be very appreciative.

As executor for my mother and grandfather, I had to pretty much wing it but had the help of my siblings. When we got all the Conversation Project information at church this fall, my husband and I were determined to get it all organized for our family. I sent emails to my siblings and to our children letting them know that we were doing this (and as one brother said, “thank you for starting this process for all of us and there are no better gifts for our children. Actually, it’s our responsibility to do this right.”)

Thank you for taking the time and energy to collect all of this information and make it available to us!

I just received my Departing Details Workbook hardcopy - very impressed with the content. Quite timely for both my husband and I as this has been a topic of conversation for some time. Making it easier to plan our departure. Such great detail and ever so much appreciated.

Having procrastinated for years, my several aborted attempts at laying out a concise roadmap for my future survivors provided less than satisfactory comprehensive results.

This workbook provides an easy step by step, all inclusive, logically focused guide to completing a very important task that everyone, no matter what their station in life, needs to do for their loved ones. Thank you, Rosemary, for your foresight and clarity in making this important task much more manageable.
Thank you for taking the time and energy to collect all of this information and make it available to us!

A well organized, comprehensive and effective resource that I will definitely recommend to my patients, colleagues, friends and family members. I appreciate the practical tips for documenting important aspects of one’s life. All this reduces stress and burden on family decision-makers and executors, and keeps your values and wishes known and at the forefront.

The outline is more than helpful and I have already looked up other references the guide suggests!

I have been recommending this so much. The online version will encourage me to peck away at it and complete it.

This estate planning workbook is excellent; it is comprehensive, yet user-friendly and very easy to navigate. It really helped us think through, organize and document our estate and personal affairs as we planned and prepared for our eventual (but certain) demise!!

From my experience as executor of family members' estates, I realize that this workbook would have saved me countless hours of time and frustration. It is very comprehensive and easy to manage. As a result, I am completing it for myself and my named executor.

We found the workbook a practical tool to organize key information pertinent to our estate. We also used it as a guide for discussion and decision on many issues that arise after death, and are satisfied that we have now taken care of these issues or left clear instructions regarding how they should be dealt with after our death. The format and clear guidance throughout the workbook help to create a comprehensive resource that an Executor would find invaluable. Your Power of Attorney, Health Advocate, Executor and family will be very appreciative.

Finally, a much-needed guide to estate planning written in a clear, concise and thoughtful way. I find it to be one of the greatest gifts I can leave for my loved ones. Thank you.

Recently, my daughter suddenly and tragically died. It has been very difficult not only to mourn her loss but to maneuver the myriad of payments, passwords, and invoices, that were all being taken care of online.

We had no fixed starting point. It took over 3 months to finally sort through the accounts. So, at this point in time I see how absolutely valuable this workbook is. It is now being filled in so that my son will not have to face a labyrinth of unknowns when I die.

Thank you Rosemary for your foresight and concern for all of us.

This is such a wonderful thing that you have created, with such forward thinking. I feel like this workbook makes it all seem easier and less burdensome. The thought of planning my 'after' death and putting everything together seems so overwhelming that I just haven't done anything about it. This workbook makes me feels like I can actually do it. I find it very well laid out and easy to understand. Whew, thank goodness.

After just losing a family member to cancer at the young age of 40, I have learned how important it is to have everything together. When faced with such a painful and difficult time, searching for information is the last thing you need and this workbook would help immensely. I believe families need to know the wishes of their loved ones, even if we don't agree, at least the loved one had an opportunity to lay it all out their own way.
